As a committed Christian, Suzanne sees many Christians who would like to consult a clinical psychologist who shares the same world view.
Christians, of course, are not immune to problems like depression, anxiety, stress, marital distress, and other psychological or physical disorders. Psychological therapy for Christians is no different from that for the wider community, and involves the same evidence-based techniques to address each problem. However therapy in a Christian context also aims to help Christians draw on their faith in God’s strength, the hope of an eternal life through Jesus Christ, the power of the holy spirit, as well as the support of other Christians.
Seeing a clinical psychologist with Christian beliefs is different from receiving pastoral counselling. Unlike a church minister/pastor, Suzanne is not theologically trained and does not provide spiritual guidance.
Suzanne attends an evangelical Christian church, and has seen Christians, including students of theology as well as Christian ministers, from many different Christian denominations. Fee adjustments are possible for individuals in full-time ministry. Please discuss your situation with Suzanne.
For people with other religious beliefs, or no religious backgrounds, Suzanne does not impose her own world view and seeks to always respect that of the client.
